Step by step in the placement of dental implants. Explains it to you Dr. Vilarrasa, specialist in periodontics and oral implantology
Dental implants are a successful solution to replace missing teeth, restoring chewing and aesthetic function. They are comfortable, resistant and safe. Dr Javi Vilarrasa, our specialist in Implantology, uses implants of the highest quality and guarantee. He relies minimally invasive and painless techniques.
The steps to follow to perform a dental implant treatment are as follows:
- Diagnosis
To assess the placement of dental implants, it is essential to carefully analyze the following points:- Check the state of your mouth
- Evaluate the amount of bone in height and width using a 3D radiograph such as CBCT (CT with less radiation).
- Placement of an implant
The placement of the dental implant is a simple and painless surgical procedure, especially with the use of splints that guide the position of the implant. - Scarring
After implant placement, the implant must fully integrate with the bone. Usually this period is 2 months. If the situation allows, an immediate provisional loading can be performed on the day of implant placement so that the patient does not leave without teeth. - Final crown placement
Once healed we will take some records to make the final crown. After three weeks you will already have the crown in place and you can start chewing normally. - Maintenance and review
To ensure a successful and long-lasting treatment, it is essential to follow the check-up and oral hygiene visits that the doctor has recommended to keep your teeth and implants healthy.
